What is CORIAN®?
CORIAN® is a solid, nonporous, homogeneous surface material. It is composed of approximately 1/3 acrylic resin and 2/3 natural minerals. Consequently, it is an advanced composite material that is particularly suitable for architecture and design. This material stands for functionality and durability. Its unique appearance and versatility belong to an array of features that distinguish this material.
CORIAN® and cross infections
The hygienic properties of CORIAN® reduce the risk of cross infections and the spread of germs to a minimum. Because this material has a highly dense, nonporous surface, it provides no breeding ground for bacteria, viruses, mold, and mildew. They die on the surface within a few hours. Compared to stainless steel or other composite materials, CORIAN® is pleasant to the touch. Cleaning is extremely easy: CORIAN® can be cleaned and reprocessed using almost any surface disinfectant.

Infection Control in over 100 colors
It is not just the chemical properties that make this special material convincing. Visually, too, CORIAN® opens up more options for doctors than stainless steel or other materials can. Wavy or seamless shapes are no longer a problem. Available in more than 100 colors, the new ATMOS surfaces can be easily integrated into existing interiors and thus contribute significantly to creating a pleasant atmosphere.
Tested quality
The hygienic properties of CORIAN® have been certified by LGA Qualitest GmbH, an independent inspection body. A series of stringent tests regarding resistance to viruses, bacteria and fungi, ease of cleaning and design capability from a hygienic point of view showed that CORIAN® performed very well compared to various conventional materials used in the healthcare environment.
